NEW FORMAT! In an effort to make this special event more “user-friendly”, our getJazzed Vocal Day is undergoing a make-over this year.  Briefly, this is how Vocal Day will work:

In preparation for the event:

1.     Participating schools will send up to 12 students of varied voicing (SATB).

2.     Each school will receive one vocal jazz chart in advance, including rehearsal tracks.  Teachers are asked to prepare their students to perform the song on the day of the clinic.

On the day of the event:

3.     A masterclass for everyone will be followed by breakout sessions divided by voice part.   Breakout sessions will include sectionals, how to listen to jazz, lead sheet and solo work, vocal technique, improvisation, etc.

4.     Everyone will meet after the sessions to perform the vocal chart with a guest band. 

5.     The day will end with a performance by none other than the day’s namesake, Ms. Toni Lynne!
